Joshua T Rivero

Joshua Rivero is a distinguished composer and music educator who embarked on his musical journey at the tender age of four. By six, he was already composing music. His dedication to the craft led him to study under renowned composers such as Dennis Kam, Donald Stinson, and George Crumb. Throughout his high school years, Rivero excelled, clinching the Manhattan Music Composition Competition three times consecutively. His compositions have been performed by prestigious orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and South Florida Philharmonic.

Rivero pursued his higher education at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, specializing in music education and composition. Here, he worked under esteemed educators like Dr. Brain Powell and Dr. Lee Stone. Further enhancing his skills, he studied conducting with luminaries such as Michael Tilson Thomas, Gerald Schwarz, and Gustavo Dudamel. Rivero’s experiences have not only shaped him as an artist but also as an educator committed to nurturing the next generation of musicians. His future plans include continuing to teach and create innovative musical works that inspire and influence future artists.
